It looks great Rod!! I'm sure glad you found the boat were looking for, even if it did take a couple of long roadtrips.
I like R&R II for the name, it's a fitting tribute to both your dad and the good times you had together. When's the maiden voyage going to be?

They do have great service!! When I had a problem with mine I called and actually was able to talk to a real live person who knew what he was talking about without having to sit on hold forever.

I know they're not as fun as salmon but the white bass are hitting well on the Wolf River. I fished New London for about two hours after work last night and took home a dozen big ones. I was casting crankbaits and spinners and did OK but the people using minnows were really catching them. It's a great time to take a kid fishing for some fast action on hard fighting fish. I've started many kids out fishing for them, the action and success holds their interest. If you need specifics let me know.

Thanks for the info. Kevin. I've got a trip planned for Sat. afternoon but with this nice weather I might have to get over there yet this week some evening. Hopefully I'll have a good first-hand report to post.

Are they getting any fish out there? I finished getting the boat and trailer ready last night, it even runs!!! I've caught enough walleyes for a while and I'm ready to catch some salmon.

If the goby king (aka Champ) shows up and catches a big fish, can he still get in the big fish pot AFTER he catches it? ;D

I run a pound ball on a 8' rod straight out off each rear corner of the boat. What do you think my chances are of not catching it with a wire diver set on 1.5 and a mono diver set on 3.5 on each side? I usually run only one diver but have been thinking about trying 2 when I'm feeling particularly masochistic.

I'd check the main wires going from the kicker to the battery. Check for loose connections, connectors, or corrosion. Take them off and check/clean them. Also, is there a power supply running from the kicker forward to the controls? If there is you'll want to check that out also. I'm just guessing, not much experience. But I'm sure someone else here will have some good advice.
You might want to post this question over on the GLA board and hope that Hondacat answers. He's both knowledgeable and helpful.

It gets interesting real quick when a rigger fires while you're clipping on the board, you learn how to reel in leadcore really fast. What's happened more often to me though is having a fish hit the leadcore while it's in your hand when clipping on the board. I always smile and say that's what I like.....instant results!! ;D

I agree with Mojo on running copper and lead on the same side. If you can visualize the depths your baits will be running at, always put the deepest closest to the boat and the shallowest farthest out. Just keep in mind that the length of leadcore to get to a depth is greater than that of copper when sending out a copper if you're going to end up passing it across a leadcore that is closer to the boat.

When you have the 10 color out and are putting the 7 color in make sure you keep the boat moving straight to avoid tangles. Once you've attached the board and let it go straight back a ways, engage the reel. The increased speed of the board heading to the side and catching up will cause the 7 color lead to rise up and pass over the 10 even if you cut it a little close. I generally let the board go back farther than necessary and then reel up the extra line as the the board heads to the side to position it in the correct place.

I found it too but I'm a little pissed that I have to start at zero posts and be a new member. I was working so hard to be a God member.

You went to Erie and didn't invite me?? Next winter you better be careful where you park your wife's car. ;D ;D
Looks like an awesome time over there. I haven't been to mother Erie in quite a few years, might have to plan a trip soon.
