A faithful reading of all posts on this message board should teach you all you need to know about salmon fishing, balancing salmon fishing with work, family, girlfriends, wives, hunting, and other wastes of time. Don't bother cheating in salmon tournaments. It's like chartering, you'll die broke and someone will take the plug out of your boat some night and you will find it on the bottom of your slip. Good Luck.

I caught a nice 9 1/2 pound male Coho on 9/12 deep off Algoma. He had a big kype on his upper jaw, and beautiful orange meat.

Most Lake Superior posts are done on the MN version of this board. Best local info for Ashland area is to call Angler's All in Ashland. www.anglersallwisconsin.com/

Steve O, I believe they are lacking a scan, memory scan, dual or triple watch, and weather alert feature. All things I think are worth a little extra, considering how much time we spend on the water. If $ are tight, go with a low price radio and a better antenna, like the 8' Shakespeare Galaxy 5225 XP, and do a careful job of soldering the PL 259 connector. Results with that antenna are outstanding.

Looking for a complete control stalk or ribbon connector for a Raytheon Sportpilot. I'll also consider buying a complete salvage unit. Roger (715)760-5421

Out of the water since 2006? Be sure to check the bottom of the gas tank. I'll bet that gas has turned into napalm by now.

Could be sporty out there. Small craft warning posted until Sunday AM with strong SW winds. Might be OK in close with some cooler water in close. Wind should push the warm stuff to the MI side and cause an upwelling of mid-lake bottom water to the WI shore.

Jandru's Express at the junction of 42 & 54 in Algoma has 91 octane premium with no ethanol. Just look for all the boats and guys with gas cans.

Online petition or someone with a tree spade to move the darn tree that blocks the view of the harbor entrance all summer. cam.algomafishing.com/All replies count as a vote to move the tree!

The further out you go, the rougher it will get. With winds up to 30 knots, steering and keeping lines straight could be a real challenge. There should be some very cool water close to shore, and maybe some fine fishing. Above all, err on the safe side. No fish is worth capsizing & drowning for.

Blue jeans long enough to cover the shoe tops. I end up with that famous "troller's tan" raccoon face & and very dark arms, the rest like an albino :-))

Northman, lots of great fishing yet this year, and the Kings really have the feed bag on now, as we are about 8 weeks away from the spawning run, so gear up an head over if possible. Be sure to check on the Coast Guard requirements as well. Distress flares, VHF radio, and a GPS are essential. Be SURE to mark a waypoint at the harbor mouth, so you can find your way back if fog happens, and it will.

Steve O, the union spoon is a standard size silver hammered blank, normally a slanted piece of scalloped tape on it, and I'll bet you have 20 of them in your collection of old crap from 15 years ago. :-))

There is enough room for 5 colors with ample backing and leader. Works perfect.
