That poor seagull is just hovering in the same spot!

Friends don't let friends buy Lowrance. Cumbersome menu system, horsehockey customer service.

A friend of mine was out of Algoma last night. 145 FOW, flashers and flies 105 down. Boxed some nice 3 year olds. Nothing on the leadcore or copper.

That Sea Ray with the twin 4's has been at Algoma Municipal & Jag's docks the past few years. I've fished on a few like that and found the fish fighting area to be small for the size of the boat, tough to get around the couch type driver's seat to grab a rod, and with the rear deck flat above the engines, you are standing way above the waterline, making for a lot of swaying in larger waves, and a long reach with the net. Nice cruisers with a big cuddy, but a compromise for fishing.

Horizontal rods for dipsys and pound balls, no teathers. Only rods I've lost are vertical ones that a planner board tow line grabbed on a tight turn and lifted them out of the rod holder.

Yep, The Coast Guard has finally shut off LORAN completely. Everyone can now dig out their old LORAN units, Couplers and Antennas and fill the dumpsters. I shed a little tear as stuff that went for close to a grand new, went for a ride with Waste Mgmt.

As long as they track straight and do not blow back excessively, it does not seem to matter what color or shape weight is. Tangling downrigger cables together is evil.

My Si-tex is on every night and anytime visiblity drops to a mile or less. Will never own a boat without one. Wonderful at night when running in, because boat running lights blend into the shore lights, and the radar is great for seeing these boats and the clowns with no lights, like charter captains trying to sneek out of port without leading a parade.

My brother-in-law has a old short shaft 9.5 Johnson on his Alumacraft Trophy. Once in a while we swamp it in trailing seas, but the price was right. It's like waterskipping a snowmobile. It might end up inhaling a little water once in a while, but cheap fun.

As I always tell folks on my boat as I break out the scissors from trying to run too much stuff that seems to want turn into nylon rope. Mono is cheap when you buy it by the mile like we do on this lake. :-)

Go for June, cooler water, the fish started last week already, so get them while they are in prime shape and plentiful, and less boat traffic. With 30 charters at each port taking many fish a day, beat them to the fish.

Done! Thanks for the help Clam. Had to alter the picture size in the profile. It wanted to make it 65x65, which made the boat tall and short.

Ok, I'm now here too. The Fat Cat starts fishing next weekend. How do I put my Avitar on this new board?
