One he11 of a fish Steve at 29.66. To be 2nd in the KD out of 2500 fishermen is a great accomplishment. You should be proud of last week.
As for our group no winners w/ 19lbs being the biggest king. Highlights of the nine days included night fishing for first time, shooting the crap with Gilligan, fishing with hiisle, meeting Scrapper, trying to dock with one motor after steering cable broke (I almost single handedly wrecked the entire Kinn charter fleet), & finally having a charter captain jump from dock onto boat to putboat in slip in the wind. Things in Algoma ain't gonna be near as exciting now that I've left the marina. As one of my partners on the boat said" Walker your the worst fricken boat driver in Algoma & probably on all of Lake Michigan"
Fishing was OK in my mind. Mostly a flasher fly bite on our boat as couldn't get the spoons working all week, Fished 65-80 ft to start the week & finished in 120-140. Only fished mornings & had couple of windy mornings that didn't leave the dock. Averaged 5-7 fish per trip which was good in my mind just no fish over 20.
Congrats to all the winners in the KD tourney & if I screwed ya up with my boat drivin-I apologize. I need lessons on driving that big arse boat, Champ-you lookin for a second job?

Great fish-congrats
Too bad ya couldn't of caught that one in the KD tourney. Last I looked 28.57 was leading the Salmon-A-Rama so 30.6 would of made ya some big money next week.
Congrats again to all on the boat

Yep sent 2 PM's yesterday. One to gilligan & the other to hiisle. If I click on the messages tab it shows 2 PMs in the outbox so I assume it worked.
The he11 w/ this high tech crapola. My cell is 612-381-6399 & I'll be in Algoma from 7/19 to 7/28. I only use the phone while in Algoma but don't leave a message as I forgot the password to retrieve messages. My God I just love this high tech crap you young people use. Next thing ya know you'll need a password to open a can of fricken beer LOL

Walker ... the darker it gets .. the BIGGER the diaper bag needs to be.[/quotyep Yep I'm sure night fishing will be a fiasco as I'm not that good of a boat driver in the light. As a smart man once told me "You ain't gotta be crazy to fish outta Algoma-but it really helps" So Steve-gilligan tells me I need some of your oil. You gonna be around Kewaunee this weekend? You fishing the KD?

Thanks for the responses guys.
Tony, I've stopped out to Big Lake couple of times but your neighbors say your a hard man to catch. I appreciate your post & thanks for the info. I'd be glad to "PM" my phone number if I knew what that meant. I'm not too internet saavy so maybe someone can explain how to PM in old man terms.
Thanks again for the help

Plan on trying some night fishing out of Algoma during the next full moon period. Never have tried it so any advice would be appreciated.
What time to start?
Run all moonshines or non glow baits also?
Fish w/ boards or just riggers & dipseys?
Thanks guys

Buy plenty of beer and head east....I would start +250 and aim for 700. Probably good advice. Was out week of the 4th & rainbow fishing was OK out deep but salmon fishing was spotty at best. What was it that Mojo used to say "I'm no more than a weekend hack" so take my advice w/ a grain of salt. Good luck to ya
