Thanks for the update Fatcat. I also wanted to thank you for your Captain K's website as I check it often for surface temps & the wind report. Very helpful for us MN guys

Thanks for the report griff. Maybe some 60 degree water by the weekend?
Looks as though the charters have had some nice catches this past week.

Great video as usual Nick. I really liked your commentary as gave me a few laughs.
Nice job on the fishing as was a tough bite during the KD. 20.87 should make you some money-congrats

Pfm, Your comments are very unfair. I know a lot of great charter captains. Many of them will go out of their way to help out a fellow fisherman with info on the bite and when they have a breakdown on the water. Most of the guys that only fish this water once or twice a year do not realize how dangerous it can be in the fog. They also have no idea how far the long copper and lead lines are behind the boards pulling them. I think a lot of the fishermen think they are trolling for walleyes and if they get a bite they have to do a 180 to get back on "the spot" and that leads to them tangling their own spread while cutting off someone else's. This sums up my thoughts well. A little courtesy & common sense go a long way.

After the brutal swarm of boats during the KD, nope. During opening weekend of the KD that is the most boats I've seen in Algoma in a long time. On 7/19 was a double row of boats at 3:30 AM that ran past the 2nd parking lot into downtown. Reminded me of the old days of the tourney when they used golf carts to shuttle people back to the launch. Boat numbers seemed to ease off quite a bit as week wore on.

Good fricken luck lameduck. Fished the past 9 days & was real tough. 47 degree water everywhere & fish aren't very cooperative.
Only fished mornings so best advice is 65-80 ft. Others caught a few in 100-120ft.
Good luck to ya

Looked for ya in the Top 20 but not this year eh SteveO Just giving you the bizz as your group has done very well in the past couple of years. Anyone from Kewaunee get a big one this year? Algoma was dam tough fishing for most everyone I talked to including the charters. Lots of skunks & 1 fish catches during the tourney. Our group did terrible on big fish this year & never even registered 1 fish. The captain (me) took a lot of abuse as most days we had 2 or 3 fish in 6 plus hours of angling. I hope others did better than me so post up how you did in the 2014 KD tourney.

Great video Nick
I especially enjoyed the Gilligans Island theme song
Tony, How long of leads are you running on your dipseys? Noticed you were hand lining them in

i wanna also try this Salmon O Rama thingy I'm sure it's been discussed but sure would be nice to have a weigh station in Kewaunee/Algoma area. Any talk of this for 2014 Salmon Rama?
