We took some advice from a friend today and tired our luck at some Brown fishing. There are still some ice chunks floating around but nothing that was too big or solid. We worked South of Kewaunee and found a few bays that had some warmer water in them. We had 36 degrees in the harbor, and 39-40 where we were catching our fish. Depths of 8-25 feet were the best. We ended up going 16 for 19. Mostly small browns but we did have 3 at 25". Five fish came on Rapala's in natural colors and the rest of the fish came on spoons. Silver was the dominant color, with white takings some fish as well. It was great to get out on the water after a long winter. The weather was beautiful, and we never saw another boat the entire time.

Flew right over the top of you at about 2pm. Lake looked nice.
Nice catch
BTW, 7 minutes from two rivers to frankfort. Wish I could do that in the boat.

Very similar results in Algoma today. 14-17 with all of them being under 5lbs. Gold spoons and gold thundersticks for us. Good job Mike!

There wont be any big ones in the future if you guys hammer all the planters. They do live if u shake them off. I dont know about the rest of the fishermen on here but that pisses me off. 1, 2, 3. Breath.....ahh Just because its legal doesnt make it right. Shame on Uall.

We threw back 4 little ones that were not bleeding. You ever fish browns with stick baits Mr. Jlars? Uneducated people with huge internet muscles piss me off! They were absolutely delicious.

Those browns last night were absolutely delicious, nothing quite like the first fresh meal of trout for the season. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Me and the family were awfully happy with a meal of fresh fish and a couple for the smoker this week.

do those browns bite real early in the morning like salmon, or is there a different best time of day? JP

They bite pretty much all day long. But don't keep any. They are too small and taste like crap. Is this lake-link? I'm lost.

I don't see releasing a blood bath that had a stick bait in his mouth. Keep what you intend to eat, or the casualties from the buried hooks.
And it's a little early in the year for bickering, boys.

Lol! Killem all. The picture disturbed me and I wouldnt want my kids to think thats OK. Id rather see a stringer of 3-5lbers than 12"ers is all im saying. There are ways to decrease the mortality of those future fish. Lure choice, bending, removing front trebles, having some tools. Just have to care a little. Sorry if i offended anyone. I wont say anymore .
