New to the area of fishing in Michigan City and Portage. Can someone give me some guidance, either GPS coordinates or general location of the black ditch near Michigan City? Keep hearing about it in the reports but guess its assumed everyone knows where it is. Thanks!

Black Ditch is straight West of the Harbor in Michigan City. Just past the Nipsco plant and a large Sand Dune called Mt Baldy there is a creek that runs into the lake that creates a ditch to the waterline. Approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the Harbor mouth. Usually a group of boats out in front fishing Perch. Hope this helps.

I don't think the "ditch" has actually emptied into the lake in decades. However, there are some clay deposits which tend to hold crayfish, which perch just love. Last couple of outings. no perch to be found.
