4 of us went out of portage at about 5:45 in the morning. cought about 10 keepers in the fish basket. but my buddy went to hand me the basket to put another keeper in there and slipped out of his hands. so started all over again thinking we should just give up. 20 minutes later started catching again and lifted our spirits. ran out of bait by 11:00 ended up w/ 57 keepers. i let all my buddies know that this my never happen again. i went out the next day and took a my kids and we cought 29 from 8:30 to noon. figured they were biting all day long. had alot fun. they were all from 12-16 fow and also hooked into a steelie but lost it. no reason why you you and you can't go out and have some fun.
