We are all so glad that Gilligan, Scrapper, John (Awespray) and his friend Steve made it down for the weekend of fishing.....
When the wind finally calmed down late this afternoon, the lake flattened right out and Krash and I managed to get out for a couple of hours of trolling.....
We rolled with the 1-2 footers on an east troll doing about 2.4 SOG on the GPS........we were later joined by Gilligan and Awespray on the water and they stayed out much longer than we did......
We set up in about 115 FOW and ran a six line spread......we got our first action in 162 FOW on an 11 inch Coyote flasher with white cracked ice glow and stamped chrome with a Howie Green Crinkle fly with orange beads down 53 feet on a side rigger --- a little coho.......
When we hit 174 FOW, the back rigger pounded and we nailed a bigger coho on an 11 inch pearl fish scale flasher with a Rainbow Richard Electric Champagne long fly with gold beads down 74 feet.....
We turned the boat at 188 FOW and headed back on a due west troll, popping another nice coho in 139 FOW on a orange OO dodger with a Rainbow Richard medium champagne fly with double single hooks........when we hit 129 FOW, we got a scrappy solid seven pound rainbow trout on that same set up......the lake subsided to roughly a 1/2 foot chop when we were coming in.....
We ended the short session going 4 for 4 with three coho and that rainbow........I believe the game plan for the first trip tomorrow morning has us setting up in 110 FOW on an easterly troll ......
Congrats to Awespray for his good sized roughly 12 pound king he nailed tonight on a five color board line! Great talking to you guys tonight!!!
Good luck to everyone going out this weekend!
