Fished the derby with Musky Mike an No Fish Nick.
4 am start with calm seas Friday, ran right out to some waypoints I had from earlier in the week in 300. Right out the gate we lost our first fish. Then somehow managed to go 9 strait. Pulling the pin at 330pm 9 for 10 with some quality fish
Decided to fish the super
The morning started with a fly lead break followed by a big bow doing what they do best. Then we managed to pick a few fish going 4 for 6.
Highlight of the trip was a 18.62lb bow that took first in the derby an came in the final minutes of the tournament in the slop.
We also placed 5th with a 26.25lb king, an 5th place bow, an 5th place coho.
Stud rods were 125' 3 setting braid dipsey, 75' 1.5 setting wire, 200' copper with stud flashers being Half chin, dragon slayer, an Charlie's special all with Mike's hand tied fly.
Also 150 copper with a orange an yellow evil eye was a bow destroyer!
