Fished the AM before the big thunderstorms hit the lake Monday. Went 1 for 5 probably all kings, 3 we knew for sure. Tons of bait within 115 fow. Couldn't get a hit there, moved outside of bait to 135 and hooked up on our wire dipsey (80 FOL) with green blue chrome FF. Unfortunately lost that guy (low 20s) behind the boat. Same set up went again in 135 after a bit but the leader snapped at the knot after a few quick head shakes. As we edged into 185 got hit on a 10 color chrome blue flasher dragging meat. 14# king. Took awhile, but it was my 74 YO uncle's first salmon so it made the whole trip worth while. Went all the way to 275 before moving back in. Was 46ish surface temps all the way back to 190, then got to 50 degrees pretty quick. Started marking fish again and had 2 more swings and misses. 10 color set up again and also on the rigger down 90 with meat. Do it again I'd have ridden the 135 line till it died and then the 180 line and see what happened. Got to fish cleaning station and a few guys had a close to full cooler so that was promising.
