It was slow fishing for us today but cousin Dan Schreiner caught the biggest fish out of my boat since the 37.4# Lake Trout in 1997. It is was 28.63# chinook and currently in 5 place in Salmon A Rama. The fish hit a flasher fly on a wire Dipsy and didn't take me long to know this was a big one. Cleared a side and circled the wagon and counter had gone from 80 to 621! Got it close enough to see the dipsy and another fish hit on a downrigger and the coho ran right across the line and hung on the dipsy of the big fish. I told my cousin Randy Schreiner to open the bail and let the Coho have its way. It worked. Landed the big fish and then, yup, landed a nice coho. The battle was in excess of 25minutes. I for one am happy for the big blow forecast that will make the lake unfishable as it would be nice for us to hold that spot. Earlier in the tournament we landed a nice 19.5# brown on Brad’s Christine Special that was in second when we weighed it. Much to my surprise it is no longer in the top 10. There are 10 browns >20#. Cousin Randy managed the biggest fish in a long time @ 25.5# that most years would be in the top 10. It hit an old green extended glow mag Fuzzy Bear spoon that I covered with UV tape. It was a great time on the water and some decent weather getting up every day before 3AM. Today’s was much needed. Grey Beard

You definitely paid your dues for that with the amount of time on water. Congratulations !
