Set up 80fow just shy of Fox Point early enough I put lights on my planer boards. Surface temp 58 and marked bait balls and hooks. Took a while to get our first bite that turned into a double, 7.5 # king 6 Color magnum moonshine RV wonder bread and 1.5 wire Dipsy 80 LOC white spin doctor and Brad‘s purple frog, a Coho. Not long after 40 foot rigger White flasher and Bullfrog fly another Coho.
We thought we had found a good place to fish but that was the last bite for a long time. Finally turned east and made it out to 180 and missing a bow on a 3 color Hot Tamale red/silver Fish Flash. Got a call that someone had action back in the same depth that we had left so pulled and ran a bit north and back in. On the set up pulled a 11 1/2 pound king on a three set Dipsy 40loc and an orange pro king.
Wiggled between 65 and 95 for the next 3 1/2 hours without a sniff, still marking some bait and hooks. Water had cooled from what I had been hearing and was as cold as 44 down 40.
From what I was told most boats struggled, both Milwaukee and Port Washington. 2020 hindsight on such a flat day I might’ve been better off to pull and run out to 300 and troll back in looking for rainbows. I hope someone finds more fish because I’ve got the time but 4 fish 5 hookups not worth 0145 alarm and the drive.
