I got out for my first trip of the year from 5-10 last night with nothing to show for it. We fished 70-100' and marked lots of fish. The amount of bait we marked was more than I've seen in years too. I had 3 releases on a deep rigger with a green/orange PK but that was the total of our action for the night. It was a fairly calm night but the fog was thick. For those of you without radar, SLOW DOWN!! I had a small boat coming directly at me while he was running in. I don't think he heard my horn because he didn't turn off until he could see me, which was only about 150' away. The main purpose of the trip was just a shakedown for the boat since the next trip is well offshore on Superior, so I guess we at least got that done. But a salmon on the grill tonight sure would have been nice.
