Hey Gents,
I am planning a trip over to Lake Michigan on May 21-23rd. I wanted to fish Port Washington but with all of the reports I am thinking Racine or Kenosha. I would like to target Coho. I am not worried about traveling long distances but I am curious about the road construction south of Milwaukee. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

It's hard to say if the coho will be up to Port by that time.
I'd watch the reports and make your call then. If you plan on heading down early AM or mid-day, the traffic through downtown Milwaukee won't be bad. The traffic/construction is minimal at this point.
Goodluck!

Yes I agree traffic should not been too bad. If you run all the way down to Northpoint get off at 173. It is still free to launch there.
We have been doing fairly well on the coho. Last week they were out deep like 150 or so. The week before they were on the beach in 12 feet of water. This weekend it is anyones guess with the crazy weather

Traffic/construction was a none issue coming in from and heading home westerly the last 3 times I was down to Racine. The 9th was the last one.

There will be quite a few of us fishing this weekend out of Port Washington and will post reports to help you with your decision as to where to fish....

Coming from the Madison area construction was not a issue, but I know they are closing differant things nightly. We had no issues last earlier in the week getting to Kenosha.

I subscribe to the DOT web site for construction updates because I live near the airport and am affected by the closures periodically. Although you should not have a problem even if you have to use the detour you can obtain e-mail updates by subscribing to this link: www.plan94.org/updates-current.jsp or you can visit the DOT web site : www.plan94.org/ I am sure if you dig deep enough you can even learn how to negotiate an Al Gore turn about....
