Where is everybody going? Add some strategy for this weird weather. I am going to Leech. Plan to start in front of my place on the south end near Huddles/Rodgers point.
Usually drag lindy's with leech or shiners but I think the Goose Island to the narrows section will be hot with fish and boats and probably jigs are a better bet. I'll be up for the week so email me and I can give you a report.

Still working on the boat so it is ready to go to Canada.
Hope to have it in the water for at least a trial run on a local lake.

I fish from Big point to Barnacles. We had fun on opener but It was slow. The launch thing isn't my kind of fishing. I like to hit the sand and drift this time of year. I caught 2 fish on Saturday one 21" and a 16".

Elephant lake was fun. The pan fish cooperated the walleye did not. A rock took a bight out of my motor as well.

Spent the week, left sat when the storms came. People got siked out without any wave action and it was hot out there. My crew wanted to try the popular spots and different things which proved fruitless. I guess Goose Island area was ridiculous with boats on the opener. Sat. morning caught 3 keepers, ate them for lunch and when leaving my slip around 5 for the evening my cable broke in reverse so I was doing power circles in the harbor. Caught a few in the slot using my kicker and when I went to the trolling motor bow mount it blew a plug. Back at the shack my water heater was turned on by my buddy with no water in it, the brand new pump kept losing prime and the lawn mower wouldn't start. Spent Sunday on a troll to Huddles and thank the fishing gods, MarineMax was open. spent the res of the day re-cabling but got out Sunday nite to release a few more. Spent Monday going from Stoney/.ottertail, 2 point the 2 duck pts Hardwood to little HW to goose island flats. Hardly a bite on my rod but my buddy caught 3.. 16 to 18" and a 3 kinda keeper perch. Buddy left fixed trolling motor caught 7 from 5 till 9. 2 below 4 20" to 24" and one mean SOB over 27, which I released. New crew up Wednesday caught and released "Ernie" again and had to convince the guy to let her go again. Caught 3 more keepers and release 5 slots. Thursday caught ernie again and this time the third guy didn't want to let her go but I just tossed her overboard. Later I threw a 29" overboard that the same guy caught.. I just don't get some guys, fishing my boat using my equipment wanting to Kill "my fish" just so they bring them home to show off and this one guy so he could get laid by his girl friend.
All in all it proved to me that if you stick to your guns and change your system to fit the calm/blue skies, the fish are still there. Hardly saw any boats the whole midweek. Caught plenty of eyes, 2 slimies one 5 one 9# and everyone went home with their lower slot limit fish. Leeches and shiners at .5 to .9mph 9 to 17 ft. Huddles claimed a shiner back in their harbor with guys catching from shore and docks.
How did you guys do?
