Hammond area coho/browns?

Any luck casting from shore in this area? I haven't been up to the area in years and going to chicago next weekend from Indy. Was thinking about going up early on Friday and doing some casting. Catch and release since I'll be in the city all weekend.

What are good places to fish from? I used to just cast spoons from the marina break wall by the horseshoe casino. Is that still allowed? any marinas that don't allow fishing?

Again, haven't been up there in about 6-7 years, so any helpful hints would be appreciated.

A 26.5# Brown was caught from shore at the East Chicago, In. Marina a day or two ago. You can get updated info by calling Mik-Lurch Tackle Outlet in Hammond. They usually have feedback from the locals.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I'll give them a call on Thursday and see if they've heard anything.

Anyone else have any advice that might be helpful?
