Plankton - how have you been fishing? Meaning what are you running for a setup - downriggers, dipseys, planerboards - what depths, lures, etc....what time of year/day do you go out?

If you're heading toward Bailey's this weekend let me know when you plan to be in the area. I should be home in Algoma friday night and Sunday afternoon. I can shoot up there and give you a few ideas on your rigging.

No worries plankton...it's a game of the smallest details most of the time - and varys from boat to boat on what works or doesn't work, so don't get discouraged, just keep trying small adjustments until you find out what works for you. Take Champ up on his offer and start from there to see if there's anything majorly different from what he does versus you and be a sponge about it - adjust your lengths off the ball and distance between flasher and fly and speed of the boat. Those are easy things to adjust - give it 20-30 minutes and change it again. Baileys is a good port and once you get in on the details, you should do well there. Then when something fires make a note of it and repeat it and you'll soon get the missing pieces of the puzzle together. I would strongly encourage you to mix in some spoons in with those flasher/fly rigs especially out of Baileys. We usually only get out of Baileys a couple/few days a year, but the last couple of years the spoons have outfished the flasher/fly combos for us there by a long way...Orange and gold pro-kings have been real good for us in spoons and Green/Cracked Glow e-chip flasher pulling any fly with a little glow in it in the dark on the riggers or Dipseys have been very kind...

Just wanted to say you are 100% right plankton about the guys here. Sooo much info shared and always helpin the new guy with tips... sometimes the not-so-new-guy. Always pick up something on here .. maybe just a technique that a more experianced Angler hasnt tried just because there are sooo many ways to do things.
A friend of mine two years ago started fishin salmon.. first 3 trips out not a bite on anything.. then a friend of his noticed his line while chattin on the dock.. he had gotten a deal on flour green mono... he told him to maybe change out that line to blue or clear... Added 30 foot leaders to it and... 7 fish the next trip. Sometimes its just the little things.
So.. just to assure you.. you came to the right place!

Listen to Championship he knows what he is talking about. Start out slow with things. I started out with downriggers and dipsy's and have added planer boards and then some lead core to the spread as well. A mixture of spoons and flys with dodgers/flashers throw in some j-plugs and you have a set up. It is really what works for you so it will take some trial and error of what to use and when to use it. Take note from all these guys they know what they are talking about. Good Luck.

Champ nice pluggin over the weekend ,there was way too much info,so I'll start slowly just like Steelhead suggested and have to go to drawing board and rework all setup.
