I got out to the MC harbor again this morning to find quite a few more boats. Everyone seemed to show some respect for one another, unlike Monday when a speed boat coming in cut right behind our planners and took one line out with his prop as he looked over the side of his boat at my planner almost underneath his hull. Anyways, this morning was decent for everyone from what it looked like. We missed two opportunities, but saw lots of fish being caught from boaters and some pier fisherman. Marked some decent fish but no takers for us after the two bites early. The two bites came on dolphin color spoons. We tried shad raps, wally divers, warts, huskies jerks and threadfin shad cranks, nothing to show. Hope to get out again early next week. Good luck to all if you go.

Water temp is 69 (coldest since spring) at 5:00 this morning at Burns Ditch USS Midwest Steel Bridge. It dropped 2 degrees last night and is maintaining a stage height of 3.0 ft (3.0 was average for July & August). 4.3 ft occured on Monday the 17th starting mid day into Tuesday night. This rise was due to the lake surge with the NW/N winds on Monday-Tuesday. Stream flow was recorded as negative flow during this time.
This channeld flow to the lake is highly affected by wind direction. A good rain is needed to raise the level and promote posititve flow to the lake. I believe that this combination will bring in the majority of the fish staging on the porch.
I have supplied and installed highly accurate monitoring equipment from the US 12 bridge to the mouth of the Ditch. We are profiling the temperature, level and flow at multiple locations every 60 seconds. I have access to some really cool data. I am working with the manufacturer writing a software update allowing me to detect, record fish swim bladders. I am hoping to take the data and verify a push of fresh fish are moving in.
I will share additonal info as this progresses.

Dyerkohn, what are you using? I went to mi city last night and had two nice kings follow at the same time, all the way up to the breakwall. I was casting a nickel/green dimpled acme little cleo in 2/5 ounce. Cast it out wait a couple sec and then slow retrieve. Helped net a coho at portage marina Sunday night. Nothing tonight at the marina.

I am from Indiana and have been lucky enough to have fished many other states. I just got back from Oregon a few weeks ago. I went up there for there the salmon run. Saw a few people catching some very nice size kings as well as coho, we however were fishing for kings with not one hit. They fish alot different. They do use a flaher but not like one I have ever seen, then a three way swivle. They use that three way to rig up someway that was new to me. I have just never seen kings fished this way. The three way had one end with a leader about 35 inchs long with two number # 6 hooks (I think is a # 6 hook ) the other two ends of the three way swivel had a leader set with the flasher off there line and the other with a leader with a 6 ounce ball type weight. It seemed to work. The ball weight was to keep there 65 pound line down enough I guess ( I did not see one down rigger) and way glad to be back so i can head to M C friday and saturday and maybe get lucky up there. Has anyone had any luck out of MC in a boat or on any of the peirs ? Any information would be great. Thanks action

We got out to the MC Harbor this morning from 6:30-8:30. Not much going on from what we could tell. There were 3-4 others out there in boats and about 10 guys around the piers. We went 0/1 and called it quits early. We decided to go to another local lake and try for some crappie with much better luck.

new member, first post but looking forward to sharing/learning some great info. Anyone been out fishing Pastrick/Jerose for Kings? Thinking about taking a run out tomorrow but thinking maybe the ditch would be a better run.

I was out in MC this morning. saw maybe 10-15 other boats. Saw a guy land a nice king right in front of the Washington park Marina entrance. Other than that didn't see or catch anything.

Went out of Pastrick today, went 0 for 1 at the hole in the wall on a chrome J 8 feet down. Plenty of boats on the water but based on radio chatter not many fish being taken. Heard 1 boat had 2 kings out of the shipping canal.
