Would like some opinions on leader lengths on flies behind dodgers. Is there any correlation to the length of the leader versus the size of the dodger? Bigger dodger, longer leader and vice versa. Also leader length compared to the size fly you're using. What works best for you? Thanks ahead of time for any info.

1.5 to 3 times the size of the dodger is the most common rule of thumb but I have a relative who uses longer leader lengths and is fairly successful

The shorter the leader, the more dodger action will be transmitted to the fly. Heavier line will also impart more action

10-12" for the OO dodger and 20-24" for the larger dodgers. For 8" flashers you can use the 20-24". For the 10" flashers i like 28-34". Saying that i run 40-50 flouro behind the attractor to the hook of the fly. Fishing for Lakers at slower speeds i cut the leader length in half. Works for me good luck. I only use the standard flies 1.5" and 4". Spoons would be 40-60" behind the attractor.
