I'll be spending this Saturday afternoon with my small kids and another couple at Bay Beach in GB. Sunday am I would like to dump my rig in at Kewaunee and give it a try. Never been there before. Anything I should know? Nets, underwater structres? How far to the 100ft mark etc?
Feel free to pm me!
Thanks and Tight Lines! SLAMMIN SALMON

I did see a net earlier in the year, it was straight out from the can in like 180. Not sure that it its still there. The fish market reopened this year and they have a commercial fishing boat docked by it.

that boat is next to our slip, and I have not seen it move once...so im going to say that its not fishing at the moment...on another note..glad the fish market reopened..something close for me, and it tastes great, and a bit cheaper!

Thanks guys. I will have two GB'ers who fish with me from time to time in Port. They told me they can get me to the launch. I plan on being there around 4am. I will monitor Channel 8.
Kingspade, I know you fished with Clam a few weeks ago to learn a few things. While I am no expert I have logged 10-14 trips a year for the last 5 years. If you do not have a crew for your boat Sunday am you can fish with us, as I usually run with 4 but will only have 3 for this one! I run 4 boards, 2 dipsey's, 2 slide divers and 2 riggers when I have a full crew of 4. Might be able to show you a thing or two, and I'm sure I can pick up some info from you as well.

That net boat was out yesterday afternoon. It's my understanding that they're going quite a ways South to set nets. I haven't seen any yet.

On Saturday I was a little south and saw the nets in a line from about 200 fow to 450 for sure. There may be more but they are marked with plain orange bueys that look like balloons from a distance. My understanding is the nets only come a few feet off the bottom. Best of luck. Kyle www.jennyannsportfishing.com

Kyle's correct....the fisherman in that deep of water are gill netters...the net is weighted to the bottom and floats up 4 feet. They are probably fishing for lake chubs....normally 300+, they try to set outside the lake trout or they will mess up thier nets. The only concern may be the bueys.....they anchor rope for them are quite long and the current is strong in that area normally.
