Went 7-8 on rainbows this morning. 2 man crew. Everything on spoons with only 1 coming on a downrigger. 2 on mono with no weight behind planer with moonshine happy meal. 2 on pearl yek spoon on 5 color. 1 on a moonshine bloody nose mono line. 1 on blue dolphin on 7 color. 1 on downrigger 30' down with a pearl yek. 0 on downrigger with flasher fly down 50'
Started in 100 with no action until 160'. 3 fish on way out to 230' Turned and picked up 2 around 180-190'. Last one heading back out in 190'. Quit at 9:30.
Anybody know how long highway 54 will be closed for in Brown county? Or detour route? Bringing camper down next week.
Thanks

Nice report. Congrats on what sounds like a great fishing trip.
SO now highway 54 is closed? Getting to be a real adventure in Green Bay area. I figure the next traffic sign I'll see will say "Sorry you can't get to Algoma from here"

It's killing me that I can not get over to Algoma right now....fishing appears to be HOT! Nice job and thanks for the report. For now I have to fish in my mind through everyone else's reports.
54 being closed was also news to me....but no surprise. I have been coming to Algoma from MN for 10+ years and never gone through GB the same way due to road work!

Signs say closing Monday June 13th. East of New Franken to near Kewaunee county line. Appears as though they might be resurfacing that rough stretch of road. Not sure what the local detour will be, or how long it will be closed.

Thanks for the info on #54 Lynn Marie. So when coming out of Green Bay it might be easier to stay on Highway 57 & turn at Dycesville? Anybody have a better way to Algoma?

When going north on 57, go past the hwy54 exit to Algoma about 1.5 miles. County K is the turn off going east. You can follow to the detour sign north of Luxemburg or go all the way to Rio Creek and catch 54. Decent road, 3 stop signs.

We fished Saturday evening and Sunday morning out of Algoma. Pearl Yeck with flat black back on 10 color, using Walleye board to get it off to the side, was the hot bait. Best fish was a 19 pound King at sunset. 5 Steelheads, largest was 9 pounds. Pearl Yeck, flamethrower, blue & silver Pro King, Cactus Spoon (green blank, Raspberry prism tape, silver back) were the winners. Everything on leadcore or wieghted mono on boards. Downriggers and dipseys were dead.
