Anyone fishing this weekend? Waves look calm, I know it is early for some. I'm trying to convince our crew to give it a try. For the drive we would probably limit to 1 of northern ports (Algoma, Kewaunee). We are thinking to fish 2pm until dark. Any suggestions for depths?
Looks like it will be 2 guys and 2 kids in the boat (12 years old and 9 years old).
Thanks in advance, Jason.

We fished Sheboygan, first time for us. 2pm to 8:30pm. Tried south, from 50 feet to 105 feet. Went 2 for 3, rainbows all hits on 3 color with small watermelon spoon in 90 feet on a south troll at 2.9 GPS speed. Peace, Jason.

Looks like Kewaunee could of been a good bet too .. "Should have called the Duck" Went out Sunday with Chris, and Anchorman AKA Disco Duck .. started in 120 and worked from there .. two doubles and a triple .. went 12 for 16 or 17 ..

May I ask what your go to lures are for rainbow? I haven't had a consistent success rate for them.

I fished for bows out of Algoma and have a killer bow spoon...Its a Finn gold blunt nosed #0..If you can find one...order several... the bows love them...JP

Lameduck, I would assume the spoon you are talking about is an obsolete spoon as the company doesn't list it on their website.

Do you ever use flashers with your spoons, or do you run clean? how much weight are you running on the line? And if I may ask what is your lead from the planer board?

Its very similar to the gold # 0 without the eye listed in their 0 group... I just ordered 4 more in anticipation of going out for bows soon...your right however, I do have a few vintage #o's as well as Finn's other plain gold and silver spoons...aww the memories of the good ol days on Lake Superior...JP

Oh I forgot....I let out 50 or so feet behind the board with only a small weight to keep the spoon from planning...no flasher JP

Thanks for going along SteveO. Nice day to start the year. The bite should really be on fire this holiday weekend and remain so at least until we get any major weather changes. Hope everyone can get out there and enjoy!
