If the Feds want the lake as close to the native approach as they can, and this is obviously something they are looking to do, then I'd love to see some serious focus on getting the Perch population back too. Forget all the money being wasted on keeping Asian Carp out as they will be a non-impact in Lake Michigan's non-fertile waters. They'll poke their heads out of the tributaries and turn right back around and go where the food and their preferred habitat is. Use the money toward Perch habitat and restoration like Illinois did when they built many man-made reefs for spawning.
