Will be fishing most days of the K/D. Was thinking of just running out to 400 or 500 ft one day if the conditions are good. Anyone ever do this? I figure at the very least there should be some rainbows out there. Figure I would surely be in undisturbed water. All the salmon can't be in ,say 200 ft or less, are they? Any thoughts or input?

If you find bows up high, you might find kings down below them. Go fast for bows, then go back through slower for kings. No guarantee, but it is a pattern that has occurred before.

It's worth a try griff. We used to do that a few years back but always targeted rainbows. Like all fishing some days good & others slow. If your looking to get away from the crowd it works quite well.
Only caution I'd throw out is go out with a partner boat or two. Very helpless feeling if ya breakdown & not another boat in sight. I've been there & done that & it's not so fun.

Few years back (2011) I was running out to 600 - 700 feet and doing well. Steveo and terry's toy were going to 800. Would get mixed bags of bows, lakers, coho's and Kings. Just have to keep an eye out on the wind and weather. I use the fishweather app to keep an eye on the wind.

There "was" a NET out in 400 .. not sure if it still there but you might want to keep an eye peeled for it. Very interesting hooking two riggers and everything else in the lead line ...
and Griffn just remember there is a LOT of 300fow .. just saying

we went out to 500 the past 2 years and did very well on bows and kings. Good size in addition to numbers. Have not done that this year. We headed southeast out of the Algoma harbor set up in 350 and trolled out.
Having a partner boat or a kicker motor is highly recommended as was already stated. It can be very lonely out there. Nice ride if weather conditions are right.
