If you want to catch lakers come to port. All you need to run are baby spinnys with peanut flys or orange super slims anywhere in the water column at 3.1 gps. They preferred the 3 and 4 color.

Going slow and fishing deep is a recipe for LT. But I do chuckle a bit when I read that people speed up to get away from them. I've put on a rainbow spread of spoons and kicked the speed up to 3.5 GPS with rooster tails coming off my in-line Off Shores and still caught LT.
LT have made up the majority of the catch in my last 3 trips. My buddies are reporting how much they enjoyed it grilled. May not be for everyone but I to have been cooking it with Cajun Butter along with salmon and finding very little difference. LT have been <8#.
Reid: I'll email you the recipe.

I have to surprisingly agree with Grey Beard, I recently took some dark meat free lake trout and steamed it in tinfoil on the grill with garlic, butter, seasoning salt, and salt-and-pepper. It was awesome.
You also cannot beat it deep fried in Cajun shorelunch!

Grey beard the Cajun butter recipe was delicious it got great reviews from our dinner guests this last weekend. I know they don't fight like kings but I think LT deserve better than a nuisance some people make them out to be.
