Does anyone have a report from this week? I'm going to give it a try this afternoon/evening and could use a starting point. I hear the warm water has moved in, maybe need to head deeper?

Fished Algoma this a.m. Was solo and didn't last to long as the lake was to bumpy for me. Got in and was amazed how nice it was on shore. Anyway, fished from 80 out to 110 and back in. Had no luck, but marked a lot of fish in the lower 20 ft at those depths. I wouldn't think you need to go deeper but just get your stuff down deeper. 50 ft or deeper would be my guess, but then it's just a guess. Good Luck Was pretty much straight out.

Appreciate the update griff & it was nice meeting you in person at the fish cleaning station. I've talked to ya on the radio & the internet but it's nice to put a face on the name. I'm headed over early next week for a few days so I'll try to post a fishing report.

Nice meeting you also rwalker, I've talked on the radio and internet with some guys for years, and won't know them if they were cleaning fish right next to me. Funny how that works.

Nice meeting you also rwalker, I've talked on the radio and internet with some guys for years, and won't know them if they were cleaning fish right next to me. Funny how that works. I've been helped by (and hopefully helped) many people that I've never met in person too. That's part of what being a fisherman is for me.... As for the report, not so good for us. We only got 2 bites, both in about 140' on spoons near dusk. We landed a small salmon and broke off a decent one at the boat on a 300' copper. I changed all my leaders this year to Berkley Fluorocarbon and that was the second one in two trips that I've had break off. I'll be changing everything back to Big Game before the next trip and tossing the fluorocarbon in the garbage.

I don't think this stuff said Trilene on it, just Berkley, but I'll check it tonight.

1 thought - Check your rod guides- copper and wire can groove or cut guides

Berkeley fluorocarbon stinks. Have had really good luck with seaguar Hard to find a line that competes with Seaguar Fluorocarbon. Hands down the toughest and most abrasion resistant line on the market.

I run the trilene 100% fluro with no issues if your looking to get rid of a spool That's exactly what it WAS and I threw it in the garbage already. There was less than 100 yards left on the spool so not really worth passing on, even if it was worth using.

I had a couple of break offs with 100% in 20# so upped to 25# 4 yrs ago and no problems since.
