First salmon fishing adventure of this year for my boat.... Had my friend Paul along. We had some luck out in 140 fow on Friday and 180ish on Saturday. One of the fish on Saturday was a 26 # 9oz King that Paul is having mounted 6 rod spread consisting of 2 riggers (meat), 2 dipsies (meat), and 120 & 180 copper (spoons). Friday 3 for 5 (2 bites on spoons, 3 on meat) Saturday 5 for 6 (1 bite on spoon, 5 on meat) Here are pics and a video

Awesome first trip and video Nick. You set the bar pretty bar for the year, it's going to be tough to beat that big one. Does Paul have a taxidermist picked out? I'd be interested in knowing who does a good salmon (just in case).

Paul is having Bucky's in Menasha mount his king. I've never seen Bucky's work so I can't give a honest critique or recommendation. I have seen Animal arts in Plover Wi. do a nice salmon. That's is where I plan on taking my big fish when it happens. her is my friend Troy's mount from a few years ago that Animal arts did for him.

I use Big Weenie and John King flashers. The ones on the riggers are the large ones. Dipsys get the smaller sized flashers.
Thanks Boog

I see you buy your bait in a bag. Mind if I ask what brand? I've never ran cut bait before but after seen several of your video's over the last couple years here, I am beginning to wonder if I should be running it.

Nice goin NFN. Long long time since my deck has seen one that big!!
It looked like both big fish from Sat. were missing the adipose fin. That would be encouraging to see a hatchery fish >26#. Hope Naze sees this.

ps Steve O. I wonder if NFN puts any roasted garlic on those strips?
pss Twin River Taxidermy in Two Rivers is the best I've seen for Lake MI fish and very reasonable last time I had one done.

Don't know about roasted garlic but do know he tried several "sauces" ... do know if he get the NFN tape to stick to the herring it would be there! Nice fish Nick ... hope you have a "new" boat record come the K/D BTW BOOG ... I "THINK" Nick runs Fish-On whole green that he makes his own strips from. Just guessing

Steve O,
If the tape you are referring to is like on half of this spoon, it was one of my best last year. The tape is similar to the old Rotten Banana by Strike Zone.
I fished with a friend who was using what he called a ProKing Dirty Oz and we took some nice ones. I looked on ProKing's site and not able to find. So I took some of my beat up old Raider spoons and copied. Apparently someone in Racine is now making a similar pattern. My picture doesn't do justice to the bluish/greenish/goldish tape that some call Oz and others call Blossom.

No special sauces on this trip. Just Green and Red label herring right from the package (Fish-On brand) that I bought from SteveO last year. Thanks for the info Grey Beard My favorite tape is similar to the one on that spoon but it is transparent, Yes I believe it is the same one that strike zone called rotten banana
