I was putting away my boat and gear today and was replaying a lot of trips in my mind. I'm willing to bet the Dipseys, especially wire were the most hit rods on my boat and were good from June till October. Next was definitely my copper set ups with my 100 copper being the stud.
Just curious on what anyone else thought was best?

Brad's Spotted Cow where ever I put it. SWR, Dipsy with Dodger, short lead rigger with dodger or flasher and sometimes with a teaser. Various board lines with or without teaser. Took the first fish of tournament season off a rigger bouncing bottom for LT using a white dodger and a 19# king took the $1000 big fish.

Here is what I experienced: Early in the season I didn't experience much of a pattern, it seemed like the bites started on one side of the boat with lead core or copper and when all the way around to the dipsys then riggers then back to the other side on the coppers. It was like a crap shoot what rod would go off next. July a good amount of bites came on the old chrome/aqua on coppers and riggers and the hot dipsy setup was a blue spinny with a blue glow howie fly. August-Sept I experienced a heavy spoon bite and for several trips that was all I put in the water and it paid off. Lots of pro king spoons and some moonshines as well. Not much for meat, although I only ran it a couple times -- but as soon as SteveO took a couplde trips with me we may have ran a little somethin' somethin'.

Spoons, especially watermelon. Id share others but can't remember what they were, probably because they all got snapped off on wire dipseys! And I have to agree the best thing in the boat was Old Milwaukee it never failed to put fish in the boat.
