Hi, There are 4 year old salmon in the Ahnapee River and Algoma Harbor. Guys & Gals are getting fish off the breakwalls and in the river on casting spoons and marshmellows on lindy rigs.
On the lake, the 3 year old salmon and steelhead are hitting on Moonshine spoons, especially Magnum RV flavors. 50 to 90 feet down on riggers, and 100 to 150 foot Dipsys. Best was 140 to 250 FOW trolling in and out. Bite continued into late morning after a lag after sunrise. We made three trips out, 5-6 fish each outing, most stuck. Mark H did manage to swat a big steelie off with the net. Tisk-tisk.
We plan to pull our docks on Oct 12th. Looks like good fishing should continue until then. Hope the weather stays nice.
