That sure doesn't sound to promising. I think I will try tomorrow. The winds are supposed to die down and with all the wind switches since yesterday, the fish must be a little dizzy.

Even with the KD Tourney going on there was not even close to the number of boats out this morning compared to opening mornings of other years. The water is really cold but hopefully this north wind will warm it up a bit. I think there were quite a few skunks again this morning, lot of trucks bypassing the cleaning station.

had a couple of nice hits right when I turned the boat, was heading north east around 140-150 FOW heading back with the waves it was 2-4 occasionally a 5-6 ft wave not good in 19 ft open bow managed it however, the turn back to the harbor was the big turn on, 2 hits no takers, rang up a lot more fish in 80-90 FOW but also had ring ups in 150 category, light hits nothing earth shattering

Was out 7/20 pm. Only 1 release of down rigger, not sure if a fish tripped it or if a wave did it. Was shock that I didn't have to wait in line to load up. Was only 6-7 boats loading up when we left. Only 2 guys were cleaning fish.

I don't want to do 4-6 ft waves again, too dam difficult to steer, load your lines in the water, I have done it a few times, loaded the boat alone, fished alone in heavy seas, its not fun at that time which its supposed to be. I love doing that alone in calm situations, the adrenalin makes up for a lot, believe me you become a very good fisherman when you have to navigate between a couple other lines in the water with a fish on, land the fish, navigate ect all at the same time

I spent the morning fighting the waves. Most boats were in 75-100 FOW. Managed to get out to 225 ft. Not even a drive by. Heard of a few fish being caught, some down deep & some up high. I wish I had been like frankievan1 and stayed in. Another $40 to help support the big oil companies.
