Anyone ever run a dipsy on a board? The boards I use can handle 10 colors and was wondering if that would be comparable to the pull of a dipsy without the ring. Redoing the back of the boat today and always thinking about different stuff.

Those big huge church boards are the only thing that I've heard of rated to pull a dipsy.......but then the question becomes how do you trip the diver to change baits. I personally think it'd be easier to just rig another rod for a slide diver. If a fish bites any type of a disc diver, to me that fish isn't scared of noise or the boat so getting it away from the boat with a board seems like its less than worth it. But that's just my thoughts

It sucks!! No way to trip it so you are pulling in a tx44 and a dipsy. This is just one of my extreme fails when it comes to salmon fishing. Don't do it!

O.K. sounds like I'll file that idea away. Thanks

Maybe a torpedo off a board would be an option to gain stealth

We ran mag dipsys off tx44s in sturgeon bay two years ago and on braid were able to trip the dipsey through the board. They pulled great but i would never run it that way again. We just wanted to see what the 44s could pull. Copper or a big ass torpedo would be alot easier and most likely catch more fish.

Bad enough if you tangle a Bird or Big Bird into a Dipsy. Don't do it intentionally!
