Just took a ride to see if any salmon were up river by the hatchery. To my surprise the DNR is holding an event today. I didn't see anything posted about this this year. I know because of funding it isn't held every year.
Hopefully a good turnout and a great learning experience for youngsters young and old alike.

First I heard of a open house. The local news did a piece on how low the water was at SB and said the DNR may have to get all the eggs from Kewaunee this year.

Naze used to keep us up on all the local info. I finally read an article about this in my local Denmark News (which came out Friday). I know quite a few of the guys around the Kewaunee and Algoma area help out with the collection and the open house.

Ive been in the river and I will confirm its super low. I have heard that there are spot the fish are having issues getting through. Hopefully this isnt the case. I did duck hunt the river last week and seen fish working hard to pass the shallow waters...to the point of probably 40 yards of over half the fish out of the water scraping belly to get through. Hopefully they will figure it out
