Lameduck, Do you live in ND? If not, it has been very dry all summer. Many of the sloughs and potholes that you have hunted in the past may be dry.

The key to being successfull in ND is being mobile. You dont need a guide in ND, Access is pretty good once you get away from the popular areas. There are, were, a heck of a lot of blue wing teal this summer, along with a ton of gadwalls. Mallards are also doing fine, but are bunched up right now. If you like gadwalls and spoonbills ( Tony loves them ), you should have no problem getting your birds.

Yea, pheasants and deer might be tough to gain access to land. Ducks and geese, not really except the devils lake area. Winter wheat was planted in many areas, if you dont know what a fall winter wheat field looks like its best to ask. Also, field hunting ducks and geese can be incredible. Most Nodakers dont even own a pair of waders, they hunt dry fields.

Most Nodakers dont even own a pair of waders, Which is odd in itself since 50% of the state is underwater in April.

Oh Rod. The last time the red river valley flooded was when you were here. Salty, If I remember correctly, most married guys in general dont own a pair. There wife owns them, and keeps them in her purse. ;D

For the normal guy from wisy the pheasant that can be found on public land is 150% better in ND than can be found around here. Weve even shot em in the mornings around the camp sites.
