What happened to the calm seas in the forecast? It looked more like 4 footers to me. It was the first time this year I've had a wave make it all the way up my bow to the top of my hardtop.
The water was 72-73 degrees from the top all the way down to 100'. We set up in 150' and made one long pass north, didn't even try turning into those waves. We ended up 5 for 8. Moonshine bloodynose spoon on a SWR rigger running within 10' of bottom went 3 for 4, a blue/glow PK also close to bottom went 1 for 2, and the wire dipsy with a Moonshine bloodynose RV went 1 for 2. The dipsy was 210' out on a #1 setting, so somewhere around 75' down. We got all of our bites in 130'-140'.
It wasn't very pleasant out there, my dad was chumming most of the trip but he toughed it out. He talked me into staying even after I started pulling lines the first time he was hanging over the side. When we finally went in at dark the coast guard had the harbor closed for the fireworks. So we had to sit off shore and wait until they were done before we could head in. Pretty nice display!!

It was beautiful and calm on Sunday morning. Calm enough that my wife slept in the cuddy the whole trip. She did not even know she was fishing until 7:30. We went 2-5, both fish came on a wonderbread #3 jplug down 135 with 1 color SWR in 200 fow. Missed two dipsey bites on glow ghost spoon 91 out over 150-160 fow. We also missed a nice rigger fish on bloody nose spoon down 101 over 140 fow early. Two minutes later that rigger released with nothing so we might have been 2-6. Might have been a light set on my part. Great fishing, catching was not so great. Frustrating when they come unbuttoned like that and I sharpened all the hooks in front of my sister-in-law so she couldn't blame me for that. Definitely enjoyed the morning on the lake!

We went 3 for 3 setting up in 170 fow trolling out to 275 and back to 230. Best was 200-250 on a 149' rigger w a flasher/fly combo. Ony one rod/bait fired all evening all plenty before dark. No night bite what so ever.

Heard it was sporty for a while though We were pretty far north when we pulled lines and it was still 2-3 footers, but when we got back to the harbor it was just a slight swell (like it was supposed to be all afternoon).

Struggled with the warm water. Had 70 on top, 69 all the way down. Just could not seem to get the fish to go this weekend. Hoping for a little wind to bring in some cooler water and turn the salmon back on.
