Thanks for swooping to our inside this morning, then making a sudden east turn and making a beeline for my leadcore as I WAS trying to reel it up to give you enough space to make your wonderful maneuver..... Then turning back in after you cut it off Was genius....... Our autopilot was going the same course for over 2 miles so I know we didn't inflict this conflict.
You know who you are, 27 ish flybridge with mercury kicker..... Very not cool. Especially when I had all my boards tightened up to give you space because I saw for about a half mile you werent holding a steady course.

Sorry to hear about that Champ, but you cannot fix stupid. Some people know the rules off the water some don't. Like the unwritten rule when 2 guys are fighting 3 fish lets foce them to thread the needle and not give an inch. I may take up perch fishing for a while. John p.s. I was on the guys right and I guess bigger wins right? Wrong!!! don't ever forget about karma, it will get you every time.

Happened to me in Two Rivers a couple weeks ago, except this guy had his autopilot on and no one on the flybridge at all. We watched him coming for 5min at a 90 degree angle to us with 6 people on the back deck talking and no one driving. Ended up causing myself and two other boats to change WAY off our course and mess up other people. We did'nt lose any gear but it did cause two other boats to get crossed. Amazing how one inconsiderate a$$ can screw up things for a half dozen boats.

Looked like a mid 20's sportcraft and 2 walleye boats. The walleye boats I can kind of understand but not the sportcraft.

If they had fish going that's one thing, but I've never seen any reason to abandon the wheel entirely, without keeping a good eye on where you are and what's ahead of you. Just my opinion. These guys were just hanging out watching me reel my stuff in.

My father-inlaw has gone on a few different charters over the last couple years and he said that on everyone the captains left the wheel for considerable periods of time throughout the trip. I know from personal experience on a charter I was on last year with him I witnessed a captain leave the wheel for almost 20min in the morning while setting up and netting fish, when I finally questioned him he said the autopilot was on and that other boats would have to get out of his way. Charter captains have a tough job and I commend them on the hours and hard work they put in but I hate the get out of my way attitude that seems to have taken over.

It's not the charter boats it's the walleye fishermen, mainly from Minnesota. They think that if they get a fish they have to go right back over the same spot as soon as possible. Doing crazy Ivan's and not respecting the boats around them in the process.

don't know why fishermanpeople think they need to be by someone else to catch fish. i feel your chances of getting more and bigger fish is to not be close enough to another that you can tell how many people onboard(at least 1/2 to 3/4 miles away) so i haven't been close to another boat for a loooong time but the best thing to do,and the funnest in my sick mind is if you can get your boards in and you feel them snag you just keep letting out all your line and then cut it ( it was probably time for new line anyway) and hopefully the won't know they hooked you, the line will drift back and tangle the whole spread, most people that need to be by someone also probably don't check their lines every 10-15 min and will waste a few hours trolling with a big mess when they pull them ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D pay backs a bitch

Doing crazy Ivan's and not respecting the boats around them in the process. Oh I wish I had gotten my video camera out a couple Weeks ago... Mid day trip, had a small boat off my rear Starboard corner just trolling in tandem, no big deal. the very second they saw us get a fish on, they turned on a dime going right across our stern because they just had to hit that exact square foot where we got that fish. I laughed it off and really didn't care as they actually gave PLENTY o f distance and weren't near my lines, but I just found it humorous. So then they end up off my port side again trolling in tandem, they see us get a double on and again turned 90 degrees immediately so they could go right through our exact path again. This continued for two or three more fish until we finally ditched them, again I didn't mind because every time they kept their distance, but every time it got more funny. ooh yea, and I didn't see them hook up a single time during that whole episode. Just a funny story I thought I would share. Anyways, its everyone responsibility to be courteous, charter captains and Walleye fisherman alike. No one ” group” can be blamed. Also I agree with salty, generally I make long runs until I don't see another boat within a mile or two at least, its so nice having all that water to myself

It seems to get worse every year. Had a Guy set up right next to us a few days a go. Not another boat within a 1/2 mile. This was a green/white crestliner with Minnesota stickers.
