The web cam shows kind of rough and a bit muddy. Going to have to watch the winds, melt water and rain won't help either.

We were going to ply the Algoma waters this weekend but decided to opt out for another week due to potential poor weather. Weekend of the 17th-18th should find us out trolling for browns/lakers. I am hoping for salmon action in mid May this year.

If you want early action, try Winthrop harbor for cohos.

We did just fine for kings in mid may the last 2 season out in about 160 to 220. Steel up high and kings down 80 to 140. Kinda nice you can spread your lures out and cover alot of ground and really work a spot over if there around. I go right to f/f on riggers and get some really fiestly early kings.

I've heard (and seen) kings in April @ Kewaunee .. on a little something ;D ;D
The "story" about ALL the kings going south for the winter is just that ... Find bait (meat ;D ;D) find fish.

I agree Steve O. As soon as we get in the water, you will see us in search of kings off Sturgeon Bay. We found them on the bank last year in May. I think they will be there in better sized batches this year early! Otherwise if wind is an issue, there is always browns and walleyes.. I cant wait to get in the water!
