Pier catches began a week ago but spotty. There are some big ones in front but the best should be yet to come. I would think Kewaunee would have a much larger run simply due to the numbers stocked there 2008-2009 ago vs. Algoma, but Algoma's narrow river mouth entry also can help in targeting staging fish vs. the wide mouth at Kewaunee. There are already fish in the harbors but I'd guess the bulk would still be in the lake. A tank of a king reported at 31 pounds was taken on a Fishin' Magician charter at Algoma this morning, pictured here. "Boog" was here and said he caught a nice king casting in Kewaunee harbor yesterday, nothing today, but saw some others caught. Said it was getting a bit crowded. Had the boat ready yesterday but it was raining hard and lightning so he did the shore thing. Thought he was going with someone else this morning or would have been on the water as it was nice. If there weren't small craft warnings out for north gusts tonight/a.m. we'd hook up. Attachments:

Caught the fish in this picture on my 5th cast last Friday afternoon around 3:00pm in the Kewaunee River. Never caught another one the rest of the weekend. Fished for several hours off the South Pier in Algoma. Never saw a fish caught on either pier there. It looks like they are doing far better in Kewaunee. I saw another fish about the same size as mine caught on Friday. Nothing on Saturday morning, at least five fish on Sunday morning. Stopped at Kewaunee on the way home today and saw another good size 4 yr old caught right next to me. I would think next weekend should be fairly good in Kewaunee. Nice to finally meet you Naz! Thanks much for the coffee and donut as well. Maybe next year we'll be able to get out in a boat. If you ever do get down this way, don't be afraid to give me a holler. Your definitely welcome aboard my boat! Boog Attachments:

Just got back from Kewaunee. Saw a guy ready to clean a big zombie ( spawning king) at the cleaning station at the boat ramp. Weighed 30.3 lbs on one the rapala digital scale.
