This morning, got out at my new normal time of 5:30 am, set up in rough 80 FOW, had to troll south from the main gap due to waves. I set my port side first; dipsy, copper, then rigger. As I was setting the starboard side, WHACK!!!!!!!!!! dipsy rod starts rocking... brought in a nice coho on a moonshine fly 100 LOC. Dipsy fired again later on same thing.
Went 5 for 5 all on flys and flashers. What made the trip even better was 3 of the 5 came on flys that I made, normally I just make flies to kill time, to have a reason to sit in the basement watch the brewers and drink beer.
Also whats pretty amazing, I split my leadcore rig doing 5 colors then mono then 5 colors. I ran the leadcore on a board and that took also a fish.
You were right, I should have listened sooner. The one thing that I still cannot understand that as soon I threw in the fish that came off the dipsys into the box all the ice melted and the water started boiling.... wierd.
Just for you guys I am changing the caption under my picture..

It's great when a plan comes together. Welcome to dipsy world. I love seeing a dipsy rod start bucking. 2 on the same side at the same time is even better.

Two dipsys on one side is an experience for a much calmer day and months in the future. Speed was all over the board today because of the massive size of the boat and the waves. Only once did I get set up into the dipsy line and after a couple of quick snips and some retying I was back in business. The copper line bird nest wasn’t so easy to fix.
I used an opti tackle crack ice dodger with a homemade red and pink coho fly with a pink blade, I used a blue flasher with the moonshine fly, and a green and white glow pro troll flasher with a homemade green and silver fly with a light green blade.
The fish caught on the dipsy were the biggest of the five and they fought hard, they did not like the dipsy rig, man I cannot wait to hook a chin on one of those things!
