Been screwing with this Copper for about 3-4 days now. Not happy with ANY KNOTS I've tried. I saw some guys use the small swivels and that seemed like a PITA to me as well. Here's what I came up with.... Get the smallest stainless crimps 45lb copper will go threw twice. Put it threw, crimp it, and add the smallest heat shrink tube you can get over it. Works great, looks great, and I'm happy!

I've had no issues with the Albright knot with copper. I don't think there is any other knot I'd use with copper. That said, I prefer the 50# SPRO swivel. A quick haywire twist with the copper and your favorite knot with the backing and you're all set.

I've been using albright knots for several years with no problems. This year when I retied I used the Spro swivels with a haywire twist and shrink tubing, it's much easier to tie. I'd be a little concerned about using a crimp sleeve. I think the copper would tend to flex at the sleeve and eventually weaken and break. With stainless wire it would work, but copper is a lot softer than stainless.

Copper is too soft for crimps. It may last for a bit, but they will break if you start catching fish on them. Albright knots will break as well and it has to be re-tied often if you are using the rod frequently.
The Haywire twist has the smallest profile and is the strongest knot for copper. I think its easier to tie than an Albright.

Here is a great video of Ernie Lantiegne. Really smart guy he has been in Great Lakes Angler magizine several times, met him last year in New York. I have used these knots for several years without any problems. www.fishdoctorcharters.com/videos/video8Q.html

Champ- take a look at this video I posted. That video that you posted is a single loop through the eye of the hook. That is a great rig for salt water when using single strand wire. Great for Wahoo rigs.
Ernies video has a double loop through the swivel which I think that is more effective with soft copper.
