I finally got all of the wiring straightened out in the boat, new electronics wired in & the interior all back together. All I have left is to build the removable trolling board and mount the riggers & rod holders. I have 2 Big John riggers with rod holders on them and I'll have to build myself some more holders for the riggers so I can stack them & also for the dipseys. These are going to be fixed position rod holders (may upgrade to something nicer in the future but for now money is tight) and I know for dipseys I want them as close to parallel with the water as I can get them. As far as the riggers go, should they stand upright more or be more laid back???

i have a center console and my dipsy holders-berts- are just a little in front of the console-about 7' from the back of the boat (gives the driver something to watch and keeps the back open) and almost parallel with the water and my 2 downriggers are about 4' from the back of the boat and the poles are at maybe a 45deg angle from the transom and a 45 deg with the water and then crank the tips almost to the water to load them up

More laid back then up.The more they are laid back the better for fighting a wild King behind the boat,. Also easier to keep a eye on the rod tips without getting a stiff neck.
