Board rods I would suggest a tree, either custom made or from one of the suppliers. We have a friend who makes great custom holders who fishes Port. Depends on the mounting options. Rail mount/ bolted to a gunnel/ mounted in a track?

I run bert's ratchet.... i fish with alot of kids, it's easy for a kid to grab the holder, pull it up and lift the rod out. and let the fun begin!!!!

for custom fits....check out your local scrap yards for alum tubing, I picked up 10' of 1/8" x 2" inside dia. tubes for $10.
I know of a place in GB that has a pallet of 25 footers "scrapp" aka damaged freight selling for $1/ lb (25 footer should go for $30...all that is needed is a good welder , bases and an imagination....

Komo,I searched and found single bert's ratchet.... holders at Bass yes the rachet system looked strong and simple to use. I found Big Jon double, that i think i need, but never seen one so don't know how simple is to adjust if you want to do it on the fly.KC

Adjusting the Big Jons up and down on the fly is SIMPLE! Pull the rod holder to the side, and move up or down.
