How'd you do in Manastee? I'm going up there on 8/30 , camping at Insta Launch. seems pretty hard to get any reports!

going up this weekend myself. the lack of reports could be a good thing since a lot of people like to stay tight lipped until after the fact and you hear " should have been here last week". or it could be a bad thing cause there really isn't much to report. either way, always nice to enjoy some time camping and fishin' and a little less time workin'.

Wind, Weather and Water temps are the issue. Boom or bust fishing. Early and Late bites. Good Fishing!

Went out Saturday 14th, 5 for 5 from 6-7 then shut down. Radio trffic indicated nobody had much success. Sunday, rough water and windy, went 0 for 1 got off water at 10AM. Same reports on radio, seems like the whole bite shut down completely.

Fished the pier Sunday and Monday night. Went 3 for 5. All were 16 to 18 #'s. They are just starting to come in. No alewives around the pier.

Just came back form that area. 17 fish (Kings) for the entire week. Very slow. Out in the boat every day.

Manistee – While action was a little slow from the piers, boats fishing between them did very well. Salmon and steelhead were coming on primarily j-plugs. 3-5 color lead, dipseys, and Long Liners were used to keep baits down a little. from www.ultimatemichiganfishing.com |
