Good fricken luck lameduck. Fished the past 9 days & was real tough. 47 degree water everywhere & fish aren't very cooperative.
Only fished mornings so best advice is 65-80 ft. Others caught a few in 100-120ft.
Good luck to ya

After the brutal swarm of boats during the KD, nope. During opening weekend of the KD that is the most boats I've seen in Algoma in a long time. On 7/19 was a double row of boats at 3:30 AM that ran past the 2nd parking lot into downtown. Reminded me of the old days of the tourney when they used golf carts to shuttle people back to the launch. Boat numbers seemed to ease off quite a bit as week wore on.

After the brutal swarm of boats during the KD, nope. And all those people that didn't catch anything all week long won't be going back anytime soon, no matter what the report.

Wrong. Some of us are just dumb enough to keep trying.

Well then you CLEARLY don't know our area and how fast it erupts when people hear about good fishing. I could just share nothing, Matt, would that be better? I'm not sorry that I don't post results publicly, and for that matter, the lack of boaters etiquette and knowledge of right of way- aren't people I want fishing near me anyway. Never seen it worse than this years' K/D. Unbelievable.

I'm sure you saw the pics on my Facebook page of our catch over the weekend. Did I have a report? Nope. Never seen so many googans with lack of knowledge/respect of the lake and other boats. If you would like some info, I'll gladly tell you in a pm or phone call. Not on here. Burned way too many times. Btw, Champ has given plenty of info privately as well.

Still wish I would have had a little "talk" with the tin can that cut 90 deg to his starboard right in front of my bow.... because they "have a fish on".... are you kidding me? we netted 3 fish in the time he was trolling just off our port side and we didn't seem to have any trouble keeping a straight course. If I had not cranked my speed up to 5 MPH while making a complete 180 turn we would have ran right over all of his lines. Fricken idiots. I'm not one to lose my cool and I certainly do not think I own the water, but that type of stuff is uncalled for. That being said, I don't blame you Champ. And with that I'm also willing to share with anyone that simply ASKS. Lots of you guys already know that about me.

Well then you CLEARLY don't know our area and how fast it erupts when people hear about good fishing. That is for sure Championship...Not to mention when someone see's you dip a net how crowded it gets around you when you originally were alone, now are surrounded like Custer @ the little bighorn!! Then what really steams me when this happens and we end pushed in or out from our original course to prevent getting lines chopped...or worse..turn to sharp and end up with a big mess!! the lack of boaters etiquette and knowledge of right of way- aren't people I want fishing near me anyway. Never seen it worse than this years' K/D. Unbelievable. This is very true. I rarely say anything to another boater out loud or on the radio..this tourney I had to yell numerous times each trip to prevent someone from dragging my stern less than 50 yards away...and then they get mad at me for hollering "give me a little room here" I always bring my boards in closer just to make sure there are no close calls..however there were tons of boats pushing the limits..If I see a boat running a lot more lines than I have out then I try to make sure our courses are very open and if there is not enough room, I will turn to help the guy out with tons of line as I KNOW its a lot harder to turn with tons of lines! That being said, I love when I have to do a 90ยบ turn to avoid the fool with 1 rigger 1 dipsy and 1 board fishing a tourney where you have to have a witness for all catches...blows my mind! I'm not one to lose my cool and I certainly do not think I own the water, but that type of stuff is uncalled for. Not to mention Steve you always seem to find a spot with little to no traffic. I know you like to avoid the goat rodeo, so if you are in boats, I doubt you setup in the middle of the pack! That being said, I don't blame you Champ. And with that I'm also willing to share with anyone that simply ASKS. Lots of you guys already know that about me. That is for sure! Steve you always give me great insight as well as good starting points...but the best thing you do for me is make those fish calls that always seem to produce..now if I can just get you to do those about every 10 mins I might limit out! LOL

Yep.... forgot to mention, I was all by myself with no other boats on my radar screen set at 1 mile radius, except for that ONE little boat that came up along side us. We were trolling side by side just fine for a while too which didn't bother me at all.
