Caught a lot on the cast and drag method. Good luck to all!!!

We have been out 3 times in the past 5 days. We have caught a lot of perch and i mean some real chunkers. 11 to 14 inchers. The fish are a lot bigger than last years. We marked fish and stopped twice but only caught a couple and a few gobies. Then the 3rd move...the screen lit up and the show was on. 38 fow. We found a clump of cabbage on the bottom. Got snagged several times with fish on but they were in and around it. I have it on the GPS so i can go back to it. We brought several long stalks and leaves in and it was all new growth. didnt even know it was out there in the lake. especially at that depth. I have found it at 30 in other lakes...but never the big lake.

I rarely if ever use minnows, they're expensive and they die. i buy the 100-150 count pre cooked shrimp. 5$ a bag at walmart. can almost make 3 pieces out of one shrimp. went out again last night (wife is out of town with the kids) headed down south at about 5pm, saw a few perch being caught and a lot of gobies.... Decided to head north after a mediocre catch went about 3/4 mile past the pier in 25 foot of water, and there they were below the bait fish, caught a couple keepers, but a lot of smalls. The best part, no gobies. If i was a bettin man that's where i'd go Wednesday morning anywhere from 25-35. good luck to all
