Fished from 5am to 10am at the R4. Ended the day 16 for 27 with the 16th fish thrown back(only had a crew of three). Ended up with 2 kings and 14 coho. No size to the kings but our biggest coho was 5.5lbs. Most fish were caught on the riggers down 37' - 55'. I was using "O" silver dodgers and white and green howie flies. One rigger had a purple liz with a "oo" red dodger that was pretty good down 45'. Dipsys out 75' were fair with "oo" dodgers and blue/green/gold stanley tuff tinsel flies. Lead core caught 1 fish on a evil alweive spoon. Yellow birds were quiet. See you one the water - Andy

hey capt. the r4 is the gong correct? also your last report you said the r3. is that the wreck or where is that.? sounds like youve been doing good. i was out the 4th and got cohos kings lakers. mostly a spoon bite for us with some fish on meat (the kings). did not run much dodger fly but looks like i might after your report. best bite was 65-70 fow.

Brooch, the R4 I'm refering to is off of Winetka/Wilmette in Il. The R3 is an unmarked reef just N.W. of the R4. Fishing has been great but you have to hit the water early. By 7AM the bite really slows down and then you just pick at them.
