I was fortunate once again to participate in the annual vets outing at Port where they bring vets from the Zeblocki (sp) medical center for a morning on the lake followed by fellowship and a fantastic meal along with a fish boil at the local legion building. Many thanks to the 100's of volunteers either direct or indirect that make this happen with donations of time, $ , talents or the strong backs(local high school jocks) that lift these vets and there wheel chairs in and out of the boats that can handle a chair. Thanks to the charter capts that also keep this date open and donate a boat. We were blessed with a flat lake and enough fish to make a lot of happy vets. My ride along was a young 92 year old who had never been on the lake before,if you could have seen the smile on his face, it was priceless. I heard we had 44 boats and took out 140 or so vets.
fish were scattered from 60 to 150 fow with the majority coming in the top 25.
