2nd trip similiar to last week----except for the flat tire on the way down-- there's no way to get the spare from under that suburban!!! so we missed the Wed afternoon fish....Thurs morn 145 feet (our favorite) 22# then 5# both kings on ff......Thurs aft nice 6# bow in 218 on gold spoon...Fri morn 2-22# kings and a 5# laker all on ff.... Not a lot of numbers but 12 for 12 on the season and about 170# total Can't ask for better considering the poor reports....JP

Thanks for the report Lameduck. We'll be over that way next weekend and hope they start to pick up a little more. Good luck tonight.

I read there was a 30# caught on the Fishing Magician yesterday out of Algoma. Too bad the charters don't share on what and how deep.

Why should they do that?
If you shot a nice buck and it had a twin brother with it...would you post on the internet where the buck lives?
With pickins being so slim this year so far, I doubt any charter is going to be giving up depth/location in their reports.

By the time they have enough energy to try and post a detailed report the fish have moved anyway. It's just one fish, they're focused on the next bite, not what they already have

I read there was a 30# caught on the Fishing Magician yesterday out of Algoma. Too bad the charters don't share on what and how deep. Some do share information on their websites. If they told you everything they would be out of a job. It's not like you are going to share all the secrets that make your biz successful.

There are some captains who give out plenty of information. They really dont have to share anything although a little piece of candy to get us excited is probably good for the community as far as getting people to make a trip out and spend a couple bucks in the area.
Maybe everyone is just pulling the wool over our eyes with the poor reports and there just hammering them? jk Never know unless you try and honestly, if you told me you had 10 skunks in a row I would still be looking to get out there tomorrow. Just the way I am.

I will add that captains share with people they know. If you want the info, become friends with a captain

The 30# fish was caught Friday evening, biggest fish I have laid eyes on in a while. The way the salmon bite is this season, yesterdays reports are obsolete. Salmon don't seem to be in the same area 2 days in a row yet. We had a decent catch of bows in 300-500 feet yesterday, 9 fish for 10 bites. Surface lines were dead, all bites were from 40-80 feet down, Pearl Yuk and Blue Moon were both good. 2 fish came on "cupcake" (green, silver, orange) fly behind charttreuse flasher on #1ball rig. We will hit it hard this weekend. CHUBBY 4, channel 72

Or have your friend get a job as a Captain.
