I dont know what has happened but i am not complaining about the perch size!! I have not seen perch like this on the lake since the late 60's/early 70's. Some so big they look deformed. Their heads look way too small for their bodies. Its a shame to put a knife in them. lol and we have marked millions of the alwives this year. Millions..schooled up under us all day. Passing thru..but they go from 5 feet down all the way to the bottom. We even catch steelys and coho on the perch lines. Wish they put walleye in the lake. lol

New to this message board. Can you give some info as to what time of day you are finding it best that the perch are feeding? I'm assuming that you are using minnows on a perch rig. I went out on Thursday from St. Joe harbor and we were out there from 7AM till 11AM and we only ended up with 9 that were between 7 to 10 inches. Are you guys catching them bigger than that?
