I know Jacklay, you guys were already close to the limit that morning and you didn't want to have another one to clean! Good quick release, leaving him to grow a tad bigger for the next crew!

+1 on what Drill Sargent said; Black and Gold Magnum PK on a full core board. Another must run spoon for me is a Dreamweaver Glow Green Dolphin. 3 color to full core board. Black and Gold gets wet wherever I fish and it always comes back with a fish at least once......I fish it on all presentations at some point or another.

Here is some of the old skool stuff my old man has. There are two lures of his that actually get wet during the season. One is an orange fireplug that we run behind an OO dodger. (Ran it first time I was out with him...not a hit....) The other is an "fire engine" casting spoon. Catch quite a few rainbows on that bait yet. Attachments:

I saw a blue/silver manistee wobbler in that box.... also a bunch of flutter spoons made by Luhr Jensen. They were HOT back in the day....I remember when I was younger, my dad, brother and I on our boat with my dad's buddy Art and his son on their boat, Art's brother Dave and his son on their boat,(7 guys total) caught 49 lake trout and 1 brown in about 5 hours of fishing off Northport, Michigan in the early 70's...All of them on the thin little flutter spoons.... ;D
